Virtual Meeting Disclosure
I conduct Spiritual direction and Listening Groups using Zoom. There are potential benefits and risks with the use of virtual meeting platforms that differ from in-person spiritual direction sessions. Please read the following information and guidelines carefully.
I use Zoom for all online appointments because it is a HIPAA compliant web and video conferencing platform.
You will need to use a webcam or smartphone during your spiritual direction appointment.
Strict confidentiality is practiced with the use of Zoom.
Both the spiritual director and the directee protect the confidentiality of each virtual meeting.
Sessions are not to be recorded by any participant.
It is essential to be in a quiet, private space that is free of distractions (including persons, cell phones, or other devices) during the meeting.
Sessions cannot be conducted in a moving vehicle.
Please use a secure internet connection rather than public/free Wi-Fi.
I request your phone number in the event we need to restart or reschedule the meeting due to technical problems.
I request an emergency contact in your location and your physical address in the event an emergency situation arises during our virtual meeting.
If you are participating in a Listening Group it is required that you are in a private place where others cannot see and hear you or other group members. Consider using earbuds or headphones. Breaches of confidentiality will impact the level of safety and trust being built between group members.
