Spiritual Direction Disclosure

Spiritual Direction is one way of coming alongside others to attend to their spiritual life and relationship with God. It’s an intentional time to slow down and notice God’s activity and presence in our daily lives. Together we listen, attend to the places God is inviting us to love, engage in the hard places of our stories, and move toward freedom. It is a place for joy, generous welcome, and transformation where we acknowledge God’s presence and our beloved identity. It’s a time for curiosity and wonder as we engage with questions, uncertainties, and longings.

I believe all our stories and experiences are both complex and sacred. I will provide a safe and confidential place for you to share your story and relationship with God. There are certain circumstances in which confidentiality may be broken as in the case of abuse or endangerment to self or others. I follow the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct of Spiritual Directors International https://www.sdicompanions.org/ and receive supervision through The Companioning Center https://www.companioningcenter.org/.

What to expect:

Sessions are scheduled every 4-6 weeks and last 1 hour. The first session is free for the purpose of getting to know one another, answer your questions, and discern next steps. Every six months or so we will discuss and discern your needs moving forward and if the spiritual direction relationship continues to be meaningful and useful to you. We bless our time together and our partings as a gift.

I’m currently offering spiritual direction via Zoom. The standard fee for each session is $75. Payments are received via debit or credit card, and Venmo. A small surcharge is applied to credit card payments. If cost is a barrier we can discuss what rate works best for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule your spiritual direction appointment please contact me via text or email 24-hours in advance.

Our time together begins with silence, prayer, or centering activity of your choice. The session then focuses on you sharing what is on your heart or what emerges from our opening centering practice. I will listen to your story, ask deepening questions, and listen for the Holy Spirit with you. I consider this time a sacred space to hold words and silence together. The session ends with prayer, silence, or a blessing.
